As our friend site “Applesfera” declares, the well -known “Apple/android´s battle” seems to balance in favour of Steve Job´s so far. The conflict was officially opened once a report from NPD group was released announcing that Android had surpassed Iphone in the US market. Just after this report, American magazine “Fortune” released an article blaming NPD group´s study not being based on real sales but in a survey using 150.000 people.
There seems to be no limits for Apple´s supremacy, at least that is how it looks like. A few days ago the auditing company Gartner stated in a press release its sales forecast for Apple. According to this source, Apple will almost have 69% of the market at the end of 2011, falling to 47% in 2015. All this information does not fit with Android´s survey on US sales, which gives them an unrealistic sector superiority.
Truth is these news usually have a direct influence on stock markets. An statement from analyst Henry Blodget, assuring “I-phone is dead in water” due to Android´s growth is causing trembling on technological stock markets every day. On the other hand, journalists as Andy M. Zaky (Fortune Magazine), declare that financial analysts are not always right on their predictions: “[...]often they do not see the whole picture or miserably fail when it gets to real or material worries on Apple”. For that reason he highlights key questions when analyzing each company market-share. As devices growth-rate and not only platform use, otherwise Ipod touch users should be included as well as the Ipad users- or if they are using average rates or manufacturers data.
However, in the last months Android has experienced exponential growth rates on the applications level, reaching 100.000 apps in a short time period (still away from approximately 300.000 applications of Apple). In addition the wider offer in devices with the same platform improves even more future possibilities for Google´s system.
But do not get confused for this. According to Fortune magazine in the last quarter only I-phone earned 8.820 million dollars incomes, higher than 8.440 million dollars of the whole Google company. There is no doubt Apple will be rocking our world.
